Maxiyield - Two Year Cutting

  • Maxiyield is a short term ley capable of very high annual yields.
  • Rapid spring growth allows for an early bite before an early silage cut.
  • Regrowth is rapid after each cut and autumn yields are higher than more persistent perennial ryegrasses.
  • Maxiyield will give good production for two years.

Maxicut - Intensive Cutting

  • A medium to long term silage mixture designed for early cutting (67D date 21st May - 5 day spread).
  • Very high yield at first cut (as much as 12 tonnes of fresh grass per acre at 67D).
  • Capable of 3/4 cuts of silage per year and aftermath grazing.
  • High Tertraploid content (61%) will enhance fermentation.

 

Grazing Leys

Seeds!Early Graze - Two Year Grazing

  • Excellent early growth for extended grazing.
  • Will persist for 3/4 years under good management.
  • The high tetraploid content provides a very palatable sward.
  • Will grow actively in late summer and autumn for extended grazing potential.

Maxigraze - Intensive Grazing

  • 100% tetraploid ryegrass mixture for maximum grazing potential and exceptional voluntary intake.
  • Good summer growth as it is more tolerant to drought.
  • Larger seeded varieties enhance establishment and slot seeding success.
  • Ensign plus Clover Blend can replace 1kg of Elgon for a "with clover" option.

Multicut - Silage & Aftermath

  • A long term silage ley suitable for cutting. With high quality aftermath grazing (67D date 31st May).
  • All the varieties reach 67D within 3 days of each other, ensuring consistently high quality forage.
  • Yields could be as high as 13 tonnes per acre at 67D.
  • Multicut will provide top quality grazing through the rest of the summer.

Multigraze - Continuous Grazing

  • Very high quality long term grazing, with the potential for silage if required.
  • Excellent ground cover and winter hardiness.
  • Late heading varieties provide a leafier sward for a longer period.
  • Ensign plus Clover Blend can be substituted with Elgon.

 

 

Tetraploids

  • Preferentially grazed because of higher sugar content.
  • Better digestibility because of bigger cell size and less cell wall content.
  • Better disease resistance - especially crown rust and mildew.
  • Higher yields.
  • Improved 'N' utilisation.
  • Higher sugar content in silage.

Headstart

  • A unique biological seed treatment that is non toxic and safe to handle.
  • Improves establishment by up to 20% and increases D.M. yields by 10-15%.
  • Is particularly beneficial when sowing in conditions that are likely to put the crop under stress, e.g. early spring/late autumn when soil temperatures are lower.

Ensign Plus Clover Blend

  • Blend of six top varieties.
  • Very flexible for both grazing and cutting.
  • Abervantage is superbly suited for both grazing and cutting as in "real animal grazing trials", it significantly outperforms other varieties.
